Middle point of The Netherlands
The Onze-Lieve-Vrouwetoren (The Tower of Our Lady) is a church tower in Amersfoort.
The tower is 98.33 metres (322 ft 7 in) tall land reaches high above the inner city. It is one of the most eye-catching monuments in town and the second highest church tower in the Netherlands.
The nickname of the tower is Lange Jan (‘Long John’). The middle point of the Dutch grid reference system is situated in the tower.
At the foot of the tower you find the Lieve Vrouwe Kerkhof square. This square in downtown Amersfoort is historical, cultural with many tourist attractions like climbing the tower, canal tours, the tourist train, citytours, theme tours and a tour by TukTuk.
